New for 2006 and Beyond - Federal & State Tax Form Links

This page will provide some useful links for you to access Federal Tax information, publications and forms as well as some state tax forms. Currently, South Dakota residents do not pay an income tax; however, we have library patrons who live in Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota who might find these links valuable. As another service, the YCL offers free Federal tax forms and publications soon after December 30th of every year. These forms are available at the circulation desk during normal open hours, or in the east entrance foyer (entrance from Walnut St.) from 8 a.m. - closing. Forms and publications are available for copying during open hours; cost of duplication 10¢  per copy. The Library also has a Federal tax CD-ROMs (1999-2005) that we can use to make copies of any form. The Library retains all copiable forms and publications for two (2) years back, so you can file amended returns if necessary. Please remember, the Library staff is here to help you find the right publication and/or form, but we are not tax experts and we cannot offer tax filing advise. Federal filing/tax advice for seniors is available at the Library during the months of March/April - please call us (605) 668-5275 for a current schedule. Remember to check our Programs/Events page for Tax Consultant dates/times. Due to privacy rights and security issues as well as software limitations, the Library does not offer electronic filing access from its in-house PCs. Be advised that you may need Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 or above in order to view/print the tax forms listed below. This software can be downloaded on your computer by double-clicking Adobe Acrobat
