Yankton Community Library On-Line Book Club  and Full-Text Virtual Library

The Yankton Community Library currently offers patrons two exciting new ways to access book materials for recreational reading.  1) The Chapter-a-Day book club provides subscribers free "sample" chapters via  e-mail. 2) Through a cooperative agreement with MINITEX and the South Dakota State Library, a library of e-books is available for Internet "checkout" from netLibrary. Patrons may use netLibrary and/or join the book clubs free-of-charge. 

Original Book Club: Designed and administered by Chapter-a-Day, the Original Book Club will up to 3 chapters of a new, best-selling book to your e-mail doorstep on a Monday through Friday schedule, with a new book starting every Monday. These "5-minute reads" are designed to spice up your day and entice you to either purchase the book yourself or , better-yet -- place the book on-hold at your Library! This book club offers a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction books from self-help to inspirational.  If you're in a reading rut, this is the club for you!  Just give us your e-mail address and start reading. netLibrary: Using the netLibrary link and a user-password (Available by calling the Yankton Community Library), you'll have access to over 2,500 full-text books that you can check out for 3 days (via on-line Internet access), download to a PC/laptop or view off-line.  If checked out by another individual, you can place the item on hold.  Titles include technical books, nonfiction and fiction with authors like Edgar Allan Poe, Shakespeare and Thoreau represented.

Our On-Line Book Clubs are offered in cooperation with Chapter-a-Day. Book selections are provided with the permission of the authors and their publishers.  All rights reserved.  We encourage you to share the daily e-mails with your friends as well as encouraging your friends to join the book clubs.  We respect your privacy and will never disclose your e-mail address to any other person/business or allow it to be used for any other purpose other than the delivery of our On-Line Book clubs.
